I stagger my painting for storage issues, so only one to two classes will be
doing a major painting project at one time (remember, I teach K-12, and only
have one of each grade level, so my storage issues are probably different
than most). But still, one class of 25 wet paintings plus pallettes take
alot of room. I have the kids write their name on masking tape and that goes
on the baggies. I throw away the plates. Seeing elementary students once per
week means that we only really do one to two paintings per year. The paint
does last for a few weeks, so it does become cost effective. I also only do
this for projects that I know are going to carry over 2+ weeks. If it is a
simple project that will be completed in a class period or if the students
won't be mixing colors I just have group palettes. I am also stingy with the
paint, because I can always give them more if they use all they have. :-)
